We are creating color mixing maps for the front of our sketchbooks, to use as a resource in later painting units. All students are required to mix their own colors in the WMSE art program. I do not purchase green, violet, orange, or brown.😁

8th graders were able to research an artist of their choice, collect details, and complete a diary entry as if they were the Artist. We are now completing artwork inspired by their research, as if this were the next piece that the Artist may have completed.😍
We are working on adding sculpted details to our animal paintings, using paper folding techniques. I can't wait to show off these wonderful pieces when they are finished! Way to go, 8th graders!
Students are studying Yulia Brodskaya and creating multimedia work inspired by her. We chose animals that were exciting or meaningful to us, then sketched animal studies to review value. When students had a favorite composition, they enlarged them onto poster board. We are using acrylic paint for portions of the animal, and will add 3D sculpted details as well. I can't wait to show them off at our Art Opening on December 13th, 2018 at the Euharlee Welcome Center and History Museum!
