Students completed an art history layout in their sketchbooks to learn about an artist of their choice. They shared opinions on the work and added illustrations. We used these as inspiration for formal studies that will soon recover the “big red chair” in our art room!
Students reviewed gesture drawing, value, and texture with this assignment. The oil pastels gave vibrant color options and our 7th graders were able to blend colors together easily. Great job, 7th grade!
Students used complimentary colors to add value to realistic candy drawings. I’m so proud of them!!!
Students learned about color schemes and practiced labeling schemes based on interior design photos. We used our knowledge to create choice projects based on a specific color scheme. It’s so fun to see what materials they are drawn to, and watching them plan ahead to make sure that they fulfill the requirements of the studio project.
