Mrs. Hennington, or Mrs. H as the students call her, is thrilled to head the visual arts program at Woodland Middle School. Our program is the only one of it's kind in Bartow county as students are able to study art throughout the entirety of the school year rather than the typical 9 week middle school connections rotation. Our students explore drawing, painting, graphic design, digital art, film making, photography, video game design, ceramics, sculpture, aesthetics, and art history. While working with a variety of media, students are encouraged to develop their own unique style of art making.
We are proud to share that Mrs. Hennington was chosen as the 2016-2017 Woodland Middle School Teacher of the Year. She was also selected as the Middle School Teacher of the Year for Bartow County 2016-2017. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Art in Bartow foundation. Mrs. H also serves on the Educational Advisory Board with The Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville and has worked with the Cartersville Downtown Development Authority and the Gateway to the Arts Committee of Cartersville to apply for grants to strengthen the art offerings in our community. We are also thankful for the Bartow Educational Foundation, which has awarded multiple grants to the WMS art program.
